Stringing

Our official stringer is Top Spin Tennis, a long-established business with a strong presence in the Cambridge area, near the Grays factory.

Top Spin Tennis describes itself as one of the largest racket sports specialists and the most highly qualified retail stringing team in the UK. Owner & Director is Chris Goodchild (pictured).

Like all the stringers whose services we have utilised, they have the expertise to string our wood rackets to the very high standard we expect for our purchasers.

Stringing options

In consultation with Top Spin Tennis we offer purchasers their choice of three string types -

• Babolat VS Touch natural gut

  GBP£60 / USD$80

• Babolat Xcel multifilament

  GBP£35 / USD$50

• Prince Duraflex synthetic gut

  GBP£29 / USD$40

Purchasers may request a particular tension, or go with our standard tension - 50lbs mains and crosses.

All models receive the Grays “G” stencil, except ‘The Wingfield’. This is our special Heritage Model designed to be reminiscent of the age in tennis rackets before stencilling.

Re-stringing

Some local stringers are happy to string wood rackets. Contact Us to request our new easy-to-follow Stringing Guidelines, prepared by Top Spin Tennis, which we can email to any racket owner or stringer world-wide, free of charge.

For Grays racket owners in the US and Canada, when the time comes for a re-string, rackets can be re-strung by our trusted partner, Next Level Stringing, of Cincinnati, Ohio, headed up by Drew Violette.

At Next Level Stringing, Grays rackets will be re-strung following the exact same processes as new frames strung by Top Spin Tennis.

If required, Top Spin Tennis can also re-string Grays rackets in the UK and Europe.
