Earlier this month at Wimbledon we were delighted to gift a new Grays ‘Slam’ to the legendary John McEnroe.

As we’ve made clear, John is not endorsing our rackets. We just wanted him to be aware that after an absence of more than 30 years, quality new wooden rackets are again available.

Wimbledon was an apt place to hand over one of our rackets to him, as John was the last gentlemen’s singles champion to win using a wooden racket. That was in 1981 when he wielded a Dunlop Maxply Fort to triumph over Bjorn Borg.

We are thrilled to say that John becomes the most recent in a string of former world no. 1’s, other Grand Slam champions, and other former top pros who have played with or at least seen and held our rackets.

Then there are the many, many, many other players around the world who since 2019 have become owners of Grays wood rackets.

We are “Serious!” about making wood part of tennis again!
